"I've lived here long enough to know not to write a check until they actually show up."
Well Gossip Girl returned this week and it wasn't short of drama or comical relief. While tensions were high with the Van der Woodsen's, more of that tension was building up between poor Blair and Dan, who found it impossible to catch a moment to finally, well, do the deed. After much anticipation they found their big break at a hotel that Rufus rented for them. Seems like ever since the last episode things have been falling apart on the Upper East Side. Lily and Rufus had to move back in to Dan's apartment. Blair has to sneak around with her new beau in order to keep out of the press and hope that her divorce from Louie will come quickly, you know before she is caught cheating on him. No one really has any privacy anymore. But anyways, their big moment seemed to be quite the disappointment. This did bring on much comedy to the episode and allowed us to get some chuckles out of a drunk Waldorf. Who would have thought the day would come when Blair Waldorf would be caught eating breakfast with lonely boy in Brooklyn and/or getting drunk off of cheap vodka with Dorota. Oh the changes! But fortunately the couple found their groove by the end of the episode and basked in their lovey dovey euphoria. It is actually so sickeningly cute that for a second I forgot I was a Chuck and Blair worshipper...... In an odd way the relationship with Dan has made Blair more down to earth than ever, which means that maybe it is a relationship worth pursuing further. They literally are the only couple worth watching for these days.
But while Blair and Dan steered clear of the drama, Serena received a not so anonymous package. As Georgina passed on the Gossip Girl stick to her friend we realize the amount of power Serena now holds. Now that she's lost her job at the Spectator she will want to get her revenge on Nate and what better way to do it than by blasting him on Gossip Girl? Once the ball is in personal territory, you can control what gets put up and what stays hidden. Yet that didn't really stop her from blasting her own family and ruining the brilliant plan hatched by William and Lily to take down Ivy.

Everything else on the show seems to surround Ivy Dickens, which sickens me because I can't stand that Florida trash. After inheriting all of Cee Cee's money she is doing everything to stay on top in a town that hates her. Wouldn't it make more sense to take all that money and go somewhere to start a new life? Although we are always suppose to respect a deceased person's wishes it becomes hard when you have lost everything because a con-artist got all of your money. Unfortunately this weeks scheme didn't really work out the way it was planned, but they can always find another way to run Ivy out of town right? My guess is that once they expose Ivy the whole truth about William being Charlie Rhode's dad will come out as well. Maybe in Ivy's desperation (you know since her un-earned funds are frozen and all) she will figure out the secret and manipulate the family with it. You never know what kind of extremes desperate people are willing to go to.
Lastly, while Diana Payne making a come back to take over the Spectator and cause a bit of chaos in Nate's new relationship (poor Charlie will never understand what a normal life is from this day forward), the writers also want to bring back Elizabeth. We found out in this episode that unfortunately Uncle Jack is a bit of a liar and he was not the one that gave blood to save Chuck from dying. In fact, he was covering up for Chuck's mother. The question remains why? Why bring her back? What does Chuck still want from the woman that abandoned him? What good could this storyline possibly do for us? Is it just me or does it seem like we are giving up on Blair and Chuck for good? Maybe its for the better. Seems like Chuck's luck with women... and family in general, isn't that great. Of course maybe next week for a change the writers will set the dramatics somewhere other than some random party that everyone has to attend.
