Chuck Bass breaks my heart more and more each week. And each week I despise Louie more and more. Not that I don't want Blair to have her fairytale, but that fairytale is with Chuck. One picture on Gossip Girl shows more love between the two then a 30 minute scene between Blair and Louie. Chucks speech to Lily tore at my heart. He had feelings all along he was just denying them. Not having Blair in his life is hurting him more then anything. But I must admit his facial expressions at Dan's book signing crack me up. If the story stays the same never fear Dan will join Chuck and he wont be alone forever.
Charlie is screwed. If its one thing she should have learned on the Upper East Side its that nobody there can live a life without manipulation and secrets. You want the comfortable life style you better be willing to kiss ass and suck up to everyone in order not to get exposed. Eventually you will get exposed and then you must be quick witted and learn to manipulate and lie your way out of that. I know she has the hang of it but is it really something she wants to do? Does she want to be a slave to this old cougar to keep "fake" friends?
Dan Humphrey... Once you rise to the top, you expose everyone and loose them anyways. Its one thing to do that to your friends, because these friends are people he hated from the beginning but to your own father? Especially Rufus.... Come on the man makes smiley face pancakes for breakfast and pretends he's a rock and roll legend. How can you even begin to talk smack about him? Thats absurd. Anywho Dan sure is living up to his name of Lonely Boy. Isn't it always like that you get the fame, you get the fortune, but in between you loose yourself.
Its hard to remember how Serena was back then because we haven't seen that Serena in awhile. She has been so reformed and serious and all she does is concentrate on work. I kind of miss the badass Serena. The one that was drunk, never remembered where she was, went on crazy vacations, slept with convict teachers when she was underage. I definitely think they need to spice her life up again. I understand she's older, more mature, wiser but come on let the girl have her fun. I don't think any of them even turned 21, how mature could she really be....
Other Thoughts
-Did anyone think to include Jenny in this book? Theres a lot to say about racoon eyes over there.
-Was Vanessa not in the book? Hmmm.... I guess I could understand that. If Dan didn't think Nate was important enough to be a major part in the story, why would Nessa be?
-Serena better start sucking up to Dan. There's about to be a movie about the Upper East Side. Maybe Dan won't agree and S will get fired and she'll turn to alcoholism?....
-Can we reveal the real father of the baby. I would love to see Louie's face.. Like a big close up on that one. Ha.
Quotes
- B- I dont want them to think of me as a star of some trashy tv show like 'unmarried pregnant princess' or 'royally screwed'.
- S- Ok im pretty sure this is how every murder mystery begins.
- C- All success comes at a price. The artist must stand alone to observe the crowd right?
- GG- Looks like the best piece of fiction is that people are actually happy for Dan Humphrey.
- L- She will always have her secrets, she cant live without them.
- D- If you can't tell the difference between what I did to Blair and what I did to you then maybe your portrayal in the book is more accurate then you thought.
- GG- Seems like Dan Humphrey is on the fast track from lonely boy to only boy.
- GG- In literature there are thousands of endings, some happy, some sad. Some end with a twist, some stories open the door for something more. And then there are fairytale endings where the girl gets her prince, and endings that turn you introspective about your own life and your place in the world. And then theres the ending you saw coming a mile away but it still takes you by surprise. But don't worry Upper East Side friends, this story isn't ending. Were just at the start of a brand new chapter.
-C- everyone loves a villian
S- Yeah I told Blair the same thing but if that's true why are you always alone?
