"Infamy can be a sentence more damning than any prison term"
Emily Thorne is a person that is always a step ahead of everybody else. She knows everything, she can predict how people will react and she can predict the outcome of any situation. So even she was in for a shock in this weeks episode.
The one thing Emily has that nobody else in the Hampton's does is balls. Sure, Victoria has her minions and enough money to pay off everybody and their mothers, but all it takes is one person who knows the truth, and one person to be brave enough to push the envelope and test everybody's limits and all the money and the detectives and lawyers become irrelevant, because the truth is a powerful weapon, and if properly used can cause much destruction and damage. With each episode we encounter people that are just pawns in Emily's game. Her charming smile makes her personable and so people feel comfortable opening up to hear and telling her many of their secrets- just enough so that she could rip them to shreds, take away everything they value, and cross them off her list with big fat red marker. That is exactly what she did to "Leo" in this weeks episode, all because he betrayed her trust when she was nine years old. He took money, fame and glory in exchange for the truth and harmed an innocent man. Now he must suffer the consequences. After Amanda Clark was unable to convince Leo to come clean, Emily had to move on to plan B and she did it without blinking an eyelash. She broke into his house while he was out at dinner with Nolan and stole all his footage, all the interviews, that were used in writing his book "Society" blaming David Clarke for everything that happened with flight 197. As risky and dangerous as Emily's actions were they led to maybe the most shocking and game twisting revelation- Charlotte was in fact a product of David and Victoria's love. She is not Conrad Grayson's daughter, she is David Clarks which makes Amanda (Emily's) step-sister. So in a twisted way Daniel and Emily are related as well. Blew your mind? Yah mine too.
The Grayson's have a lot of family drama coming their way now. Charlotte only trusts her father Conrad so if this slips she will hate Victoria even more than she already does and probably stray from Conrad. The legal battle between Victoria and Conrad is affecting the children. Conrad thought he was outsmarting Victoria but little did he know that Daniel really does want to marry Emily and this will help him and his mother be owners of Grayson Global. After Emily got wind of this, she didn't seem to bothered by the fact that her boyfriend was going to marry her to gain interest in his fathers company. Maybe a marriage will benefit the both of them as she probably already has an agenda for that as well.
Aside from the dramatic revelation, what intrigues me the most about Emily is that she can go from lighting houses on fire to putting on sexy lingerie and seducing her boyfriend, a boyfriend that she doesn't really love but pretends to just to hurt Victoria. We known from the first episode that Daniel dies on his wedding night with Emily and it is safe to speculate that she is behind the death, so is she really hoping to end this, hurt everybody and make a life with Jack, the guy she is really in love with? How does she plan on getting rid of Amanda or coming clean about all of this. I understand that revenge is something she really wants to get but after all is said and done, did she not fall one bit for Daniel? Can you simply walk away from everything in the end and live normally? From next weeks previews it seems that the news of a step sister shocked Emily, because madness is going down in the Hampton's and it affects each and every character including Jack..
