The Vampire Diaries- Bringing Out The Dead

"Its just the allure of the Petrova doppleganger is still so strong..."
Talk about taking a trip back in time. A common theme in every vampire diaries episode seems to be death, but this episode had a whole lot of it followed by a whole lot of coming back from it. It is actually depressing that every time Elena leaves someones side, even Alarics, it becomes a question of will she ever see them again? That girl has lost way to many people in her life for it to be fricking normal. That being said, I disagree with Klaus about Stefan and Damon being the worst things possible for her. Yeah because of her love for Stefan she had to enter this crazy and mystical world, but given that she is the doppleganger she would have entered it anyways right? This way at least she knows she can always count on the Salvatore brothers for protection.
We can rule out the idea that Meredith is the killer. Although all things were leading up to her, somehow I feel like thats the obvious solution. At first I thought that she was obviously responsible for the horrible deaths and that Alaric was actually going to die since in the last episode Meredith asked about the ring that keeps him safe? I assumed she gave him a fake ring and let Elena finish him off. This is kind of why the cards turn in Meredith's favor: The killer didn't seem to have any knowledge about the wring.  Also why would she want to turn Bill into a vampire? It seems whoever did this is pretty inexperienced and hasn't done their digging. Except that leaves a lot of open doors. If she released Bill from the hospital why was he trying to sneak out through the back door? Why are the murders all closely connected to her? Is someone trying to frame her? All the weapons used belong to her new score. Her ex boyfriend was the first to go, than her patient, and than her current boyfriend. Plus their all being killed through a fake "stake of a vampire" and she has an obsession with vampires. Even so, I think someone else is behind all of this and the founding families are on the agenda. Its just odd to me how each person cannot remember who the hell killed them?
It was surprising to actually see Elijah stand up to Klaus. The return of the whole original family added some nice flavor to the show as I feel we are going to get to know the rest of the family a lot better. The real twist came with what was in the coffin. The original witch!!! And she didn't come for revenge, but rather to forgive Klaus for killing her. Yeah, mothers are always so kind and gentle but come on woman your son is a beast. If she has the power but won't kill him, how the hell are they going to get rid of Klaus? No one can believe anything he says or does because he is deceptive and cunniving. If he could kill his mother one time, what makes you think he can't do it again? She also seems like a decent woman, is she going to let her son walk around trying to make hybrids, keep Elena to himself and kill the Salvatore brothers? There are a lot of un-opened questions with this opened coffin.
Despite everything that Elena has gone through at least she can say she's still alive. Caroline not so much. As much as she hated her father, when your about to loose something you always focus on the positive things rather than the negative. Bill never tried to hurt her, he only did what he could to help her. The fact that there was one man on this show who stuck by his beliefs so dearly and chose to die rather than try to cheat death was very powerful and he left with dignity and pride. My one fault with this episode was that Bill was able to stand in that sunny hospital room after he became a vampire? How did he magically get a ring to protect him from the sun? Since the mysterious murderer is out for families belonging to the founding families does that mean Mrs. Forbes is next on the list? I would hate to see Caroline suffer anymore than she already does. I wonder what that means for Tyler's lessons though? Is he going to give up and just continue being sired to Klaus? I also cannot place my finger on Matts storyline. Is he going to fall back in love with Caroline or was Klaus foreshadowing that Elena is going to hook back up with her ex boyfriend?
The two most touching scenes had to have occurred with the awesomely handsome brother duo's. After Elijah revealed the story of the original doppleganger Tatia, he admitted that her blood was the one that turned them all into vampires. She was also the girl both brothers were in love with and they feuded insanely because of their love and desire for her. This alludes to the present day struggle between Stefan, Damon and Elena. Klaus brought up a wonderful point as well. In order to keep him thriving he needs Elena's blood... And he needs her to reproduce so somewhere down the line he can have more little dopplegangers running around. She cannot reproduce with either of the Salvatore brothers. Their love might also turn her into a vampire. Both things he can not allow to happen. And despite that all, the craziest scene was between Stefan and Damon. Who would have known Stefan really still has some humanity left. Its safe to say everything he's been doing is to keep the woman he loves safe. Alternatively, those actions are exactly what pushed her into his brothers arms. Now they both love her, but neither of them have her....
