Red Widow- Will It Succeed?

Crime-thriller, Red Widow premieres on March 3 on ABC with a woman we come to know as Marta. After her drug trafficking husband is murdered in their home-town North Carolina, she must reconsider her life and values. Does she cooperate with the police on the mystery or take matters into her own hands in fear of the Russian mafia that killed her husband. If Marta is anything like Emily on Revenge, we're choosing the latter. Wondering how the family even got involved with the Russian mafia? Well, the interesting twist on the story is that Marta was born into a powerful family of Russian mafiozo's but has tried everything possible to leave that life behind. Unfortunately, her husband got all tied up in in. 

The drama was created by Melissa Rosenberg and is based on a 2010 Dutch series, Penzoza. ABC has ordered 8 episodes of the series, which means it looks quite promising. The March 3 premiere will be a 2 hour feature. Although speculations have stated that some will be surprised the show is airing on a prime time TV and not on a cable network, it isn't difficult to notice that prime time is trying its best to spice their programming up and compete with cable networks. Maybe Red Widow is just what they need. Check out the preview below.
