Revenge- Illumination

"Looking pretty good for a dead girl."
The theme of illumination that Emily brings up in the beginning was not only a metaphor for her childhood but also the amount of people that are finally seeing the truth or are beginning to get some light shed on recent events. Its really refreshing to see Jack finally take charge and try to figure out what really happened out there on the boat. Jack found out that Nolan was the one that bought the boat and dragged him to shore, figuring that he must have something to do with the evil Grayson's that Amanda was trying to bring down. Nolan confessed that the he couldn't take credit for saving him that night because the boat was registered to one of the Ryan brothers. I'm not sure if Jack believed him or not, but it looks like he won't stop digging until he gets to the bottom of this. As for Emily, I know her secret identity and the pact she made with Amanda would be tragic if it got out, but at some point I think Jack really deserves to know the truth. It might hurt him that his marriage was to a girl that wasn't really Amanda, but she owes it to him. She loved him when they were children and despite her romance with Aiden, she loves him now.

Of course the Grayson's never do anything whole-heartedly. The Amanda Clarke foundation is another scheme just like their foundation after the flight went down. The power couple are afraid that is the boat accident goes under investigation, they will come looking for them and they don't want their asset's frozen, so their hiding all their money in the foundation. Daniel, who keeps acting surprised every time his parents to something disgusting to another human being, has had enough. Conrad has Aiden as the treasurer of the foundation, just in case something goes awry, that way Aiden will also be involved in the scheme without knowing it and will be framed for stealing money. Daniel also hires Aiden as his father's successor in his corrupt company. I know Aiden is smart and he knows what he's getting into, but whats the reason that he wants to be so close to Grayson Global? As usual, Daniel is manipulated into going straight to Emily with his problems where he confesses that the whole foundation is a scam. Usually, Emily digs and digs for these things, but this was just Amanda sending her a little gift. With that information, Emily knows that she can bankrupt the Grayson's and without money, their nothing. No money, no power. Thank you Daniel.

Well, things cannot be that easy. One step forward though is always better than a few steps back. Nolan finally puts Carion to good use to try and hack the foundation and steal all the money but is blocked by a super hacker that Nolan recognizes was partially responsible for the demise of Emily's father. The Falcon. This opens up a new hunt and its refreshing to see that someone other than the initiative was at play. But what will Emily and Nolan gain out of finding out who the Falcon is? She already knows what happened to her father? How can she get revenge on a computer hacker??

Lastly, we're introduced to Eli James, Amanda's step brother who comes to town for Amanda's funeral and quickly realizes that Emily is actually Amanda. Now that her secret is out, she has to do everything to protect it. While Eli may have come without a mission at first, he's a kid that had quite the criminal record. Things are pretty comfortable for him here now, especially with the Grayson hospitality. And of course, Emily's need to make him leave town made him suspicious that she's up to something much worse than just trying to start over with a new name. He's intrigued. But how far will she go to keep her secret? This isn't easy because she has a special connection, a bond to Eli. She doesn't want to hurt him, but she can't have him stay there. How do you make someone leave without physically shutting them up. You know "two can keep a secret if one of them is dead." Theres a lot of truth behind that. If Eli were to talk, things could get really ugly for Emily. And yet, I think that would make for some spectacular TV. What would happen if Emily was finally outed?

As for the others, Padma is in seclusion until the initiative is convinced that she is on their side. The search for the Falcon has begun. Charlotte has some infatuation with Eli, enough to let her and Declan get in a fight over it. Emily has three men on her plate that she has "things" going on with. She's good at getting people to do what she wants, but does she know what she wants? Is Aiden her true love? Will she see the good in Daniel? Or will Jack eventually be her happy ending??? Next week's promo seems highly promising, as their dropping some big bombs. Can't wait. Check out the promo below.
