Its clear that this show is less about magic and more about betrayal, deception, jealousy, darkness, and a lot of hormones. That being said, this was probably the best episode of the show by far.
After Cassie's grandmother goes, well, missing the gang decides to head to Henry's (Fayes grandfathers cabin) to find check if everything is alright. Conveniently Cassie and Jake end up riding together and Adam, Diana, and Faye take a different car. Melissa was nowhere too be seen. Right from the start its fairly easy to tell that Jake wants to know as much as possibly about Cassie and her family history and get some understanding of that dark magic, and why she is the only person that can do magic from the circle. I would say it was sort of successful except for the fact that he's totally falling for her. It would be easy to kill her is she was a bitch like Faye but she's the complete opposite.
The minute the gang arrives at the lake house Faye is sort of hypnotized and dazed, hearing the sounds of a little girl yelling "help me." The events only get weirder when she goes up the stairs and see's wet rain boots, and 2 seconds later they have disappeared. This is followed by her getting drunk in the bath tub and almost going under when she discovers that the tub is full of seaweed. After their cruel game of truth-or-dare, and you can never really win with either in that game, especially when played with vicious people, Faye gets pist off and tries driving home only to see the little girl in the rain boots and yellow rain cape running around. Long story short only Faye and Cassie could see the little girl and the girl was Faye's memory. It was her when she was younger on a rainy day when she fell into the lake and almost drowned, that is until her grandfather saved her. Little Faye leads Cassie onto the dock where she summons the body of Henry to the surface leaving Faye scared for life. (Poor girl really lost a grip on reality in this episode).
Speaking of this truth and dare game it led to many revelations. Cassie kissed Jake and apparently liked it. Adam was definitely jealous, but fought for Diana and got some action in the barn. This turned out deadly in the long run as she told him that they were done and they had to take some space to see if they really couldn't be without each other. It wont take long for Adam and Jake to be butting heads over Ms. Blake or for Adam to be saving her from Jake the witch hunter, one or the other.
Other Thoughts
- It is official. Diana's father is a power hungry monster. Definitely dangerous. And as much as I didn't like Ms. Chamberlain I see that she is also in jeopardy now working with Thomas.
-I think Jane will break the spell Thomas put on her and remember with Cassie's help.
-I wonder what those scriptures Cassie found in the mail mean!
