"Your my reflection, all I see is you. My reflection, in everything I do."
Thankfully, the Iheartradio special did provide us with the exclusive first look at Mr. Timberlake's emotional music video for his second single off of his album The 20/20 Experience, "Mirrors."
The video really reminded me of Alice in Wonderland where people are gazing through a looking glass. Basically, it follows a couple thats reminiscing on how they met and how they were when they were younger. It goes through the good stages and the bad stages and in the meantime shows them being reflections of each other. They mirror each others actions and movements as if in time they had grown to be one person. At least, that's the interpretation that I can take from the video, that the older couple is getting sentimental reliving the past. Their looking through mirrors in this one room or through fun house mirrors as if into the past. Anyways the video has many messages.
The beginning was dedicated to William and Sadie, which are actually JT's grandparents. William passed earlier this year and the video is a dedication to the love that they shared. It makes it even more special and explains the ending where the man and woman are coming together and he suddenly just dissapears. The lady than takes off her wedding ring and throws it down. Justin catches the ring and starts dancing amongst other mirrors and fun house looking creatures, to which he shares a mirror-like connection as well. The video shows many levels of depth, but a wide range of generations. In a way, its like a timeline of events that led up to the birth of JT, a pop sensation and legend, which his grandparents must be proud of.
While most of the songs on Timberlake's newest album are dedicated to love, its refreshing to see that the love he's referring to isn't only to his new wife, Biel. Many of Jt's older videos have an emotional in depth connection, but this one tops them all. Justin also revealed that this is only part one of his album, so stayed tuned folks, another round of really incredible Pop/R&B with Timbaland flavor is on its way!
